3. AI-powered features & fish identification
FishScanr uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify fish species from the photos you submit. We want to be transparent about how this works.
How it works
- When you take or upload a photo for identification, the image is sent to a third-party AI service provider to be analyzed.
- We use the Lovable AI Gateway, which processes your image using Google's Gemini AI model.
- The AI returns an estimated species name, a confidence level, an approximate size class, and a category badge.

- Results are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.
